Manufacturers' Representation
Prater Technical Partners is an independent manufacturers' representative and authorized distributor. The firm carries seven product categories of industrial measurement, heating, motion, environmental simulation, and remote-power equipment to engineering and procurement buyers across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States — with select Badger Meter lines (Vision, Hedland, Blancett, Flo-tech, IOG) authorized for sale nationwide.
What the firm does
- Quote handling — for rep-firm lines (most categories), inquiries route through the represented manufacturer's quote system; pricing, lead times, and configuration options come back from the factory.
- Application engineering — narrowing a buyer's spec to the right model, ratio vs. single-color pyrometer, motor frame size and brake torque, immersion heater watt density, chamber size and ramp rate.
- Factory liaison — escalating engineering questions to the principal manufacturer's product engineering group, coordinating sample units, and arranging factory training when buyer engineering staff request it.
- Territory coverage — varies by manufacturer; see the Territory section below for the brand-specific breakdown.
- On-site visits — for engineering reviews, plant walkdowns, and application surveys when the buyer's team prefers in-person conversation over email.
- Meter programming and commissioning assistance — for ordered or stocked devices, programming (loading customer-specific configuration, calibration parameters, communication settings, etc.) and commissioning support (remote or on-site as needed) are available as an optional, quoted service to help your team get the device running.
What the firm does not do
- Not a full-service installer or repair shop — full field installation, ongoing on-site repair, and standalone calibration services are referred to manufacturer-authorized service networks or qualified third-party shops.
How orders flow
Three transaction models depending on which line is being ordered:
- Rep-firm orders (most categories) — the manufacturer is the vendor of record (ships and invoices you), and Prater handles the customer-facing workflow end-to-end: quoting through the manufacturer's quote system, entering the purchase order into the manufacturer's system, providing order-status updates, and answering technical questions directly (or, when factory-side input is needed, escalating to the manufacturer's engineers and routing the response back to you). Pricing is quote-only — submit a request for current quotation. Applies to Indeeco, Heatrex, Accutherm, Solar Products, WIKA-ST, tecsis, Cincinnati Sub-Zero (CSZ), Reuland Electric, and all Fluke Process Instruments and Raytek lines other than Mi3, CI, CM, and 3iplus series.
- Authorized distribution — buy-resell — for Badger Meter family brands, select Raytek lines (Mi3, CI, CM, 3iplus), Hi-Heat, and SunWize: your purchase order is issued to Prater Technical Partners Inc.; Prater purchases from the manufacturer; products are received at the Brooklyn warehouse for inspection and consolidation; Prater ships to you and invoices directly. Unit prices for catalog items are published on the relevant product pages. SunWize and Hi-Heat ship by factory drop-ship rather than the Brooklyn two-stage flow.
- Direct-from-stock fulfillment — for stocked SKUs (select Raytek Mi3 configurations, Badger Vision, Badger RecordALL, with additional Badger items as inventory expands): items shown as in-stock ship same- or next-day from the Brooklyn warehouse. Special-order configurations route through the buy-resell flow above.

How to engage
Three channels for engagement:
- Email — sales@pratertechnical.com. Best for quotes, orders, and complex technical questions. Include the application, the manufacturer or product family of interest (or the engineering question if the line is unknown), the buyer's location, and a target quote or order date. The firm replies with a quote, a stock check, a clarifying question, or a referral if the inquiry falls outside the represented or distributed lines.
- AI-assisted chat — available as a floating widget on every page; drawn from manufacturer datasheets and catalogs. Best for fast technical-lookup questions where the answer lives in published documentation.
- Phone — 917-673-2787. Direct conversation when email isn't the right fit.
