Prater Technical Partners, Inc. is a manufacturers’ representative and authorized distributor headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, connecting end users, distributors, and OEM customers with industrial products for temperature, pressure, force, flow, motion, and environmental testing — across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States.
What We Do
When you buy through Prater Technical, you get a technical counterpart, not a catalog. We work the application with you — sizing, selection, and configuration against the manufacturer’s current datasheet — then handle the commercial side end-to-end: quoting, order entry into the factory’s system, status updates, and the engineering questions that come up between PO and startup.
The firm is principal-led. The engineer who specs your application is the one who answers the phone, and every specification published on this site is compiled from manufacturer datasheets and price lists — the sourcing rules are documented in our Editorial Policy.
Seven Product Categories
How Orders Flow
Three transaction models coexist, depending on the line:
- Rep-firm lines — for most of the catalog, the manufacturer is the vendor of record: the factory ships and invoices you, and we handle everything customer-facing — the quote, the PO entry, status, and technical Q&A. Pricing is by quotation.
- Authorized distribution — for the Badger Meter family, select Raytek lines, Hi-Heat, and SunWize, your PO comes to Prater Technical. Most Badger orders route through our Brooklyn warehouse for inspection and consolidation before they ship to you; published-price lines are configured and bought on our webstore.
- Stocked at Brooklyn — select Raytek Mi3 SKUs, Badger Vision, and Badger RecordALL ship same or next day from our own shelf.
We also provide meter programming and commissioning assistance as an optional, quoted service. Field installation, on-site repair, and standalone calibration are referred to manufacturer-authorized service networks.
Where We Work
Territory is brand-specific — each manufacturer appoints its own coverage, and each brand page on this site states its own. Taken together, the lines cover the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic: New York, New Jersey, and neighboring states, with several distributor lines — Hedland, Blancett, Vision, Flo-tech, Industrial Oval Gear, and the Raytek Mi3/CI/CM/3i Plus series — authorized for sale nationwide.
