Product Overview
The Blancett B3000 is the flexible field monitor for the Blancett line — it takes the low-level frequency pulse from any Blancett turbine or positive-displacement meter and computes local flow rate and total, shown together on a dot-matrix LCD with standard, batch and grand totals. It comes in three models: the Base covers the common field-metering job, the Advanced adds Modbus RTU over RS-485, control outputs and two adjustable rate alarms, and the Solar model powers a remote point with no available wiring. Power it from a 3.6 V lithium battery (up to six years), the 4–20 mA loop, or the integrated solar cell, and mount it on the meter, remotely, or on a swivel where the meter itself is awkward to read. A 4–20 mA analog signal and a totalizing pulse feed a control system, and an aluminum explosion-proof enclosure (Class I, Division 1) brings the same rate and total into a hazardous area.
Key Features & Benefits
- Three models, three power schemes — Base, Advanced and Solar — battery (3.6 V lithium D-cell, up to 6-year life), 4–20 mA loop power, or solar for a remote site with no available power
- Mount it where you can read it — meter, remote or swivel mount in a NEMA 4X / IP66 enclosure puts the display where the meter itself is awkward to see
- Analog and pulse output — a 4–20 mA two-wire analog signal and a totalizing pulse output feed rate and total to a control system
- Modbus on the Advanced model — the Advanced model adds Modbus RTU over RS-485 (up to 127 units) and two adjustable flow-rate alarms for networked monitoring — optional
- Explosion-proof option — an aluminum explosion-proof enclosure, Class I Division 1, for local rate and total in a classified area
- Reads any Blancett pulse — one monitor covers the whole line — turbine, oval-gear and other pulse sensors alike
Specifications
- Function
- Field flow monitor — accepts the low-level frequency (magnetic-pickup) input from a turbine sensor and derives rate and totalization (standard, batch and grand totals).
- Measurements
- Flow rate and total; rate and total shown simultaneously on a 5×7 dot-matrix LCD (6-digit rate, 7-digit total), with standard, batch and grand totalization.
- Power
- Three models — Base, Advanced and Solar. Battery (3.6 V lithium D-cell, up to 6-year service life), 4–20 mA loop power, or solar (the Solar model is NEMA 4X only); auto-switching between internal battery and external loop power.
- Mounting
- Meter, remote or swivel mount in a polycarbonate NEMA 4X / IP66 enclosure; an aluminum explosion-proof enclosure is offered in remote or meter mount.
- Outputs
- Analog 4–20 mA (two-wire, 25 mA limit) and a totalizing pulse output (opto-isolated open-collector or non-isolated open-drain FET). Optional on the Advanced model: control outputs.
- Communication
- Optional — Modbus RTU over RS-485 on the Advanced model (up to 127 addressable units, 9600 baud).
- Hazardous-area rating
- Explosion-proof aluminum enclosure rated Class I, Division 1; confirm the exact approval and Groups with Badger. The monitor must be installed on an explosion-proof rated meter using the required meter-mount kit.
- Display
- Local rate and total on a 5×7 dot-matrix LCD; two adjustable flow-rate alarms on the Advanced model.
- Meter compatibility
- Turbine and other low-level frequency (pulse) flow sensors — any Blancett turbine or positive-displacement meter.
Common Applications
- Secondary oil recovery, fracture/refracture and coal-bed methane field metering
- Remediation, reclamation and environmental-accountability flow records
- Industrial and aggressive chemical processing, fertilizer and pesticide production and dispensing
- Liquid batching and water-cooling totalization with the batch/grand totals
- Off-grid and remote sites — solar or battery power, no field wiring required
- Networked monitoring over Modbus RTU and 4–20 mA into a PLC or DCS (Advanced model)
To size & select the right Blancett B3000:
Use the input form to tell us your Blancett meter and what the readout has to do — local rate and total, batching, or a scaled 4–20 mA signal into a PLC or DCS — and we’ll match the right monitor or converter.
