Product Overview
The Blancett K-Factor Scaler and IFC converters are the pulse-conditioning electronics that sit between a Blancett turbine meter and whatever has to read it. The K-factor scalers — the B220-880 rotary-switch unit in a conduit outlet box and the B220-885 programmable-input unit in an aluminum-capped elbow — multiply the meter’s raw pulse by its K-factor to put out a scaled pulse already in engineering units. The IFC Intelligent Frequency Converters take it the rest of the way: the B220-873 turns pulse frequency into 4–20 mA and the B220-874 into 0–5 V DC for a PLC or DCS analog input, holding ±1% over a 0–3500 Hz input with a 10-point linearization curve set in the B220-953 programming utility. Connectorized B220-950 / B220-951 versions plug onto the pickup through a 5-pin cable assembly, and both converters run on a 10–30 V DC supply. Choose a conduit box or capped elbow to suit the install; the B220-873 / B220-874 converters use pickup B111109, and all three work with the 1100, QuikSert and FloClean turbines.
Key Features & Benefits
- K-factor scaling to engineering units — the B220-880 rotary-switch and B220-885 programmable-input scalers turn the raw meter pulse into a scaled pulse in gallons or other units
- Frequency-to-analog conversion — the IFC B220-873 outputs 4–20 mA and the B220-874 outputs 0–5 V DC for a PLC or DCS analog input
- 10-point field linearization — the IFC converters program a 10-point linearization curve over a 0–3500 Hz input via the B220-953 utility, holding ±1% across the meter’s range
- Connectorized converter versions — the B220-950 / B220-951 plug onto the pickup with a 5-pin connector cable in 6 ft or 15 ft lengths (B220952-6 / B220952-15)
- Field-ready enclosures — two mounting forms — a conduit outlet box or an aluminum-capped elbow — to suit the install
- Matched to Blancett meters — a drop-in signal chain for the 1100, QuikSert and FloClean turbines; the B220-873 / B220-874 converters pair with pickup B111109
Specifications
- Function
- Signal-chain electronics that scale a Blancett turbine’s raw pulse to engineering units, and convert the pulse frequency to a standard analog signal for a PLC or DCS.
- Pulse scaling
- K-Factor Scaler — B220-880 (rotary-switch scaler in a conduit outlet box) and B220-885 (programmable-input scaler in an aluminum-capped elbow); scales the meter pulse by its K-factor to a scaled pulse in engineering units.
- Frequency converters
- IFC Intelligent Frequency Converters — B220-873 (frequency-to-current, 4–20 mA) and B220-874 (frequency-to-voltage, 0–5 V DC), in an aluminum-capped elbow; the B220-950 (F-to-I) and B220-951 (F-to-V) are connectorized versions that wire to the meter’s magnetic pickup through a 5-pin cable assembly (B220952-6 / B220952-15). Magnetic-pickup input 0–3500 Hz, ±1% frequency accuracy, 1:4000 resolution, with 10-point linearization via the IFC programming utility (kit B220-953).
- Output
- A scaled pulse in engineering units, or a 4–20 mA current loop / 0–5 V DC analog signal. IFC converters run on a 10–30 V DC supply — the F-to-I is two-wire, loop-powered (6 V insertion loss); the F-to-V is three-wire.
- Available forms
- Conduit outlet box or aluminum-capped elbow; rated −22 to 158°F (−30 to 70°C), 0–90% RH non-condensing.
- Meter compatibility
- Blancett 1100, QuikSert and FloClean turbine sensors; the B220-873 / B220-874 converters require pickup B111109.
Common Applications
- Feed a counter, PLC or DCS from a Blancett turbine meter
- Scale raw meter pulses to gallons or other engineering units
- Convert pulse frequency to a 4–20 mA or 0–5 V DC analog input
- Field-mount signal conditioning in a conduit box or capped elbow
To size & select the right K-Factor Scaler & IFC Converters:
Use the input form to tell us your Blancett meter and what the readout has to do — local rate and total, batching, or a scaled 4–20 mA signal into a PLC or DCS — and we’ll match the right monitor or converter.
