Product Overview
The Blancett B3150 is the explosion-proof member of the Blancett electronics line — a field readout that brings rate and total right to a meter sitting in a classified zone. The die-cast enclosure carries the explosion-proof rating (ATEX / IECEx / FM / CSA c-us, Class I Div 1); it threads to the meter on a 1 in. NPT hub, and where the location is hazardous the monitor goes onto an explosion-proof meter with meter-mount kit B280-757. Setup and reading happen from the front: three infra-red keys work through the glass, so the enclosure never has to come open, and the screen carries an alphanumeric readout with a speedometer bar graph behind a bright LED backlight. A 16-point linearization curve trims the meter signal for accuracy and the totals can read in volumetric or mass units. HART 7 ships integrated for loop reading and configuration, with Modbus RS-485 available as an option; analog hosts get a galvanically isolated 4–20 mA signal scaled to rate, plus a passive pulse for total. Power is flexible — run it off a 9–27V DC loop, or stand it alone on a long-life lithium battery (roughly three years) at sites with no field power — and it reads Blancett turbine and positive-displacement meters.
Key Features & Benefits
- Explosion-proof — rated for Class I Division 1 hazardous areas (ATEX / IECEx / FM / CSA c-us), so the readout lives at the meter in a classified zone
- HART 7 standard — integrated HART 7 reads and configures the monitor over the loop; Modbus RS-485 is available as an option
- Through-the-glass keypad — three infra-red keys operate through the front window — set up and check the monitor without opening the explosion-proof enclosure
- 16-point linearization — corrects the meter signal across the range for a truer rate and total, with volumetric or mass readout
- Loop or battery power — run from the 9–27V DC loop, or stand alone on a long-life lithium battery (up to ~3 years) where no power reaches the meter
- 4–20 mA and pulse out — a galvanically isolated, loop-powered 4–20 mA rate output and a pulse total output feed a PLC or DCS
- USB configuration — a USB programming cable and free PC software handle setup and parameter changes
- Pairs with Blancett meters — reads Blancett turbine and positive-displacement meters
