About this category
AquaCUE is Badger Meter's cloud-hosted cell-tower-based Flow Measurement Manager — a consumption-side telemetry platform that aggregates reads from Badger-brand meters such as RecordALL, Dynasonics, ModMAG, and others, so each meter reports on its own without fixed-network gateways. You see consumption, billing analytics, and leaks across distributed sites in one place. It captures 15-minute interval data, uploaded daily. Multi-site dashboards add temperature and precipitation overlays and exports; configurable continuous-flow leak and reverse-flow alerts notify by email or text. The optional EyeOnWater smart phone/device app gives tenants web and mobile access for their own use; and a REST API with ISO 27001 / SOC 2 security and AES-256 over VPN ties it into BAS, SCADA, billing, and property management. Prater Technical Partners, as the authorized Badger Rep & Distributor, coordinates the endpoints and hands off to the Badger AquaCUE team for online cloud-based software setup and training, and configuring the interface to your preferences and needs.

One dashboard, every meter
AquaCUE's At a Glance screen is the control center — a configurable dashboard that surfaces system-wide water activity, endpoint health, and anything needing attention the moment you sign in. Drag modules to rearrange them; add or remove the ones you don't need.

- 1Flow Health — Flow anomalies across the system — leaks detected, continuous flow, no recent flow — each drilling down to the affected accounts.
- 2Endpoint Health — The share of cellular endpoints reporting normally, plus any with reported issues or meter/encoder alarms.
- 3Favorites — The accounts each user flags as favorites, sortable by location, meter ID, or usage.
- 4System Water Usage — This week versus last for the whole system or a selected group, in graph and number form.
- 5What's New — Release notes for new and upcoming AquaCUE features.
- 6Top Accounts by Usage — The highest-consuming accounts by day, week, or month — up to 40 ranked sites.

What it does for you
Catch leaks fast — Continuous-flow and reverse-flow alerts flag trouble by email or text. A 3.6 gpm leak wastes 5,000 gallons a day — often invisible until the bill arrives.
See usage in context — Customizable dashboards chart consumption against temperature and rainfall overlays, week over week, with exportable reports.
Find problem equipment — Usage patterns expose failing valves, stuck floats, and running fixtures before they escalate.
Cut cost through efficiency — Sub-metering pinpoints where water — and money — actually goes, so efficiency efforts target the right sites.
Curb wasteful behavior — Visibility at every level of an organization turns water use into something people can see and manage.
Set your own alerts — Define the exception conditions that matter to you and let AquaCUE watch for them around the clock.
Secure, hosted, current — ISO 27001-certified and SOC 2-examined, AES-256 over VPN, with automatic software updates — nothing to patch.
Connects to your systems — A REST API ties consumption data into BAS, billing, and property-management platforms.
How it works
No fixed network to build. Each meter carries its own ORION cellular endpoint that wakes once a day, broadcasts its 15-minute interval reads over the public LTE network, and goes back to sleep — so a new site is live as fast as you can mount a meter.
Reads land in a VPN-encrypted (AES-256), ISO 27001 / SOC 2 cloud — no gateways and no servers to run — and you reach the dashboards, alerts, and reports from any browser or phone.
Meters it works with
AquaCUE reads Badger-brand flow meters across mechanical, electromagnetic, and ultrasonic technologies — pair the right meter to each measuring point and AquaCUE aggregates them all in one dashboard.

FAQ: Flow Measurement Manager
What is AquaCUE?
AquaCUE is Badger Meter’s cloud-hosted Flow Measurement Manager — a consumption-side telemetry platform that gathers reads from your Badger meters and puts consumption, billing analytics, and leak alerts for every site in one browser dashboard. Each meter reports over the cellular network on its own, so there is no fixed network or gateways to build. It is the commercial and industrial counterpart to utility metering: sub-metering, tenant billing, and water-efficiency management across campuses, multi-tenant properties, and plants.
Which meters work with AquaCUE?
Badger flow meters paired with an ORION cellular endpoint: RecordALL disc, Turbo, and compound water meters; ModMAG electromagnetic meters; and Dynasonics ultrasonic meters — clamp-on TFX and in-line E-Series. You can mix technologies on one account, so you pick the right meter for each measuring point and AquaCUE aggregates them all in one place. See the Badger Meter family for the full meter range.
Do I need to install a data network or gateways?
No. Each meter carries its own ORION cellular endpoint that uploads over the public LTE network, so there is no fixed data-collection network, no gateways, and no servers to run. The system runs completely independent of your plant IT infrastructure — nothing to provision on your network, no ports to open, and no load on your IT team. A new site is live as soon as the meter and endpoint are mounted, which makes expanding the system as simple as adding a meter.
How current is the data — how often does AquaCUE update?
Endpoints capture readings at 15-minute intervals and upload them to the cloud once a day (configurable up to twice daily). Because you see interval data rather than a single monthly total, AquaCUE can spot leaks, compare week over week, and profile demand — none of which a once-a-month read can do.
How does AquaCUE detect leaks?
It watches the interval data for the patterns a leak produces — continuous flow that never returns to zero, or reverse flow — and sends an alert by email or text when the thresholds you set are crossed. Small leaks add up fast: a 3.6 gpm leak runs about 5,000 gallons a day, usually invisible until the bill arrives. You define the exception conditions that matter to you and let the platform watch around the clock.
Is the data secure, and can AquaCUE connect to our other systems?
Yes. AquaCUE is ISO 27001 certified and SOC 2 examined, every message is transported over a VPN with AES-256 encryption, and software updates are automatic — nothing for you to patch. A REST API ties consumption data into building-automation, billing, and property-management systems, and tenants can optionally get their own view through the EyeOnWater web and mobile app.
Can AquaCUE work at a remote or off-grid metering point?
Yes — being cellular is the whole point. Each meter’s ORION endpoint uploads over LTE on its own battery, so a remote point needs no data network and no mains power for the telemetry itself; it reports from anywhere with cellular coverage. The only power question is the meter: a mechanical RecordALL disc or Turbo meter needs none, while a line-powered ModMAG or Dynasonics meter does — and where that point is off-grid, a SunWize solar system powers it. As the factory-authorized SunWize distributor, Prater Technical can scope the meter, endpoint, and power together for a fully remote sub-metering point.
What does AquaCUE cost, and how do we get set up?
AquaCUE is a subscription: a per-endpoint Monthly Data Service fee (invoiced annually and tiered by endpoint count) plus a one-time Engagement Fee that covers the software, account setup, and web-based training. A Badger Meter site survey scopes where the endpoints go. As the authorized Badger rep and distributor, Prater Technical Partners coordinates the meters-and-endpoints-to-cloud setup, configures the dashboard and alerts to your preferences, and trains your staff — send a purchase order to PTP to begin.
