Accutherm — Immersion Heaters

About this category

Accutherm immersion heaters put electric heat directly into the fluid — and the first question is whether the surrounding area is classified. The explosion-proof flange and pipe-thread build is rated Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, with an explosion-proof terminal enclosure specified to the gas Group and the sheath temperature held under the area T-code — the heater to use where the atmosphere is the hazard (ATEX / IECEx available for export). Where the area is not classified, the general-industrial mounting styles apply: a flanged heater bolts to a tank or vessel nozzle for larger kW, higher pressure, and ASME-code service, and a screw-plug heater threads into an NPT coupling for smaller tanks and lower-pressure service. Pick the build by the area and the tank first, then the alloy, kW, and watt density — Prater Technical works with you to spec the right Accutherm immersion heater.
