A powertrain or EV dyno cell couples a lot of instrumentation to one spinning shaft — a traction motor or transmission loaded against a dynamometer, cylinder and common-rail pressure captured in real time, fuel measured to the test-cell and on-board, and the specimen held at a set temperature through the run.
