About this industry
The mechanical room is where a building’s energy bill is actually made — boilers and chillers pushing hot and chilled water through the headers, pumps and zones drawing on them, and a plant that has to be metered loop by loop before the cost can be split. Prater Technical Partners supplies the thermal-energy (BTU) layer for that room: the ModMAG FC-5000 and Impeller BTU systems on the chilled- and hot-water headers, the Dynasonics TFX-5000 clamp-on energy meter across heating and cooling zones, the Series 380DS for a low-cost retrofit, Impeller 300/340 transmitters reporting over BACnet and Modbus, and the Vortex VN2000 inline meter for steam and chilled-water energy. Prater Technical works with you to spec each loop from the fluid, the temperature pair, and the network it reports to.
