About this industry
The melt shop is the hottest, dirtiest measurement problem in the plant — molten metal you cannot touch, a teeming ladle and casting strand read through smoke and glare, gas that has to be watched in the air around the furnace, and cranes running a heavy continuous duty. Prater Technical Partners supplies that layer end to end: Fluke Process Instruments Endurance pyrometers and the ThermoView TV30 imager on the molten stream, ladle, and strand, the Raynger 3i Plus for safe-standoff spot checks, ATi GasSens D12 monitoring for toxic and combustible gases in the melt-shop air, Endurance fiber-optic heads where the reading lives inside an induction coil, Reuland motors on the scrap and charge cranes, and WIKA-ST canister load cells under the charge hoppers. Prater Technical works with you to spec each one from the target, the sight path, and the area classification.
